The UK Skimboarding Jam 3rd July 2021 at Black Rock Sands, North Wales.
Skimboarding is growing in the UK with more and more of us sharing our clips and linking up online. So it was decided we should meet up and have a skim jam!
The 2021 UK skimboarding jam was held at Black Rock Sands, North Wales and included both wave riders and flat land skimboarders of all abilities. The beach is ideal beach for flatland, riding fast and far and just all round shredding! However when the tide started to come in the wave riders picked up some small but fun waves too.
The day started with the drive to the beach and everyone aiming to meet for 11:00 am. Skimboarders travelled from all over the UK to attend, some of the furthest being Cornwall and Surrey with many camping overnight. The drive for us at Shakas was a very reasonable 1 hour 20 mins in comparison.
On arrival at 11:00 am we had a friendly meet, greet and warm-up session for an hour, which at 12:00 pm was then followed by an hours Jam session, with prizes! Following the Jam session it was time for a break and from 13:00 - 15:00 there was a BBQ, beers and the jam session results with prize giveaway. Post lunch it was back to shredding, filming and photos!
All in all it was a really good day and a great success. Massive thanks to Daniel Plumridge for organising and we're very much looking forward to the next one! Hopefully with an even better turn out!
